Fall Fun In New Jersey

njhw1mannequinFall was really showing, when Bob and I were “up North” a few weeks ago. We had a great time with our family and even had a day exploring with our wonderful daughter-in-law. Some of you might recall seeing the one item, that jumped out at me and tempted me to buy it. It’s still on my mind, but I do need the exact size of that federal mirror to ensure, that it would really fit above our dining room sideboard.

Notice the dress form, that caught my eye in The People’s Store, not far from Antiques on Union in Lambertville, NJ. I was so taken by that mirror we had just seen (at Antiques on Union), and walking and snapping shots, all the while thinking will that mirror work well or not. The People’s Store is just as terrific as the one with the federal mirror. The dress form would be terrific in a craft room or a large walk-in closet. Surely you can imagine it in the preferred location with necklaces and brooches on it.

This great shop was packed full of lovely items…many, that I had no clue what they were, but guess what! Not knowing what some of them were, didn’t keep me from thinking about them then or now!

Currently, I’m about to consider kicking myself for not buying one of these great crates. Notice the name Starkey Beverage Company on them…it’s not familiar to me. If anyone reading knows about this company, please leave a note to share the info. Where would you use it? Where wouldn’t I use it? Hearth decorations, centerpieces, etc.

Love the above table with lots of drawers. Storage is always needed and it has a lovely finish and looks beautiful. That’s it…we do need a truck. Bob and I often discuss whether we would really enjoy having one for long road trips or not. If you have one, do you enjoy it on the long journeys? Seriously, we both think we want one, but just haven’t gone there yet. Maybe it’s due to the fact that we once had one that was miserable to ride in. You know…like I needed a ladder to climb in!

Notice this colorful garden seat! Beautiful for sure and might be just the right touch for your porch or family room.

OK, this tobacco basket is one thing, that I do know a little about from having lived in South Carolina around friends from North Carolina. And from looking on the web recently, they must be a very cherished collectible item. Wow! Even the broken ones like this are way up there. Maybe it’s a great conversation piece….it must be! I think they were used to gather the leaves and dry them. Often see them hanging above a mantle or mantel.

The red chicken caught my eye and then there are lots of collectibles in this area, too.

Would you please take a long look at these last two photos? This baker’s rack is outstanding in every way. Beautiful, spacious, elegant to name a few adjectives. Now, I do have a photo showing info and price on this one. Remember, it is lovely. Ready?
