Labor Day Breakfast

Hope you are enjoying time planning your Labor Day celebration. Actually, my thoughts had not been on Labor Day until a short time ago. Don’t we all enjoy pulling out the “red, white, and blue” for that special Monday? In preparation of the day, I had to show you how bare that farmhouse table can look before my thoughts get going.
Kohl’s had a great sale on this red, white, and blue table runner! Talk about being overjoyed that it was a perfect size for our farmhouse table…I really was. It just happened that way…I really was not looking for anything special. Don’t you love when that happens?
Moving along in my thoughts, it seems like a great idea to have a red, white, and blue breakfast with good ole Southern grits, scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast with strawberry preserves, coffee, and orange juice!
Not sure what we will plan for the remainder of the day. There’s usually a lot going on in our community on Labor Day.
We might stay home and prepare shish kabobs on the grill…yummy!
One of the best reasons for serving shish kabobs is that they look so pretty on the grill and when served. It really looks like it is difficult to do; however, it’s really quite simple.
Bob recently repaired our grill just in time to have a cookout with our grandchildren. It’s hard to say who enjoyed that day the most.
I’m already thinking sunshine for Labor Day…who isn’t?
I’m really thinking, that we will have “Punch Bowl Cake” for dessert. Easy and so good, too!
Walking on our bridge aka cat walk from our gameroom, I just had to take one more photo of the view from the bridge of the breakfast table…ready for Labor Day.
Wishing you a safe and fun-filled Labor Day. Thanks for visiting.
