Mantle Decor To Feature Santa

Would y’all just take a look at ole Santa in these pictures? He’s from Kirkland’s Home in Hixson, Tennessee. When my eyes fell on this particular Santa picture…it was love! Just maybe it’s because I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE holly leaves and berries! This one was almost the size I thought I was going to find for our breakfast area or kitchen. It was love…Santa and I got out of there and I know….you’re thinking…WHAT!!! Yes, I do know we haven’t gotten to Thanksgiving yet, but when I don’t buy it right away…I always miss the one! Bob held the picture up in both the places….you know where I thought it would go! Well, then I thought why not try holding it up over the mantle (mantel) and with that we tried it. Many of you know that about 3 1/2 years ago…that fireplace got a real makeover. It’s been named by me as “the ugliest fireplace,” that I’ve ever seen. Mainly due to the black mortar used to build the fireplace. Fortunately, that same mortar has faded on the exterior of the house. Nothing would rid us of that black stuff inside except the makeover. Thanks to 2 ladies, who posted their “ugly fireplaces before and after photos.” You can find the info on how to make your own “ugliest fireplace” into one you enjoy decorating, too. There are detailed instructions on my makeover post. Now, back to Santa’s picture…I love the holly leaves and berries, don’t you? I’m thinking our grandchildren will enjoy seeing him wherever we decide. For now, I’m quite sure he will be on or above the mantle. I love mantle/mantel decorating…stay tuned! 2. Love your new Santa picture. It is crazy in the stores with Fall, Halloween and Christmas at the same time. I keep thinking they will have Valentine up in a few weeks!

    • Hi Toni! Glad you like my new Santa! Yes, this time of year does seem to set us on the search for all the holiday decor. I’m thinking you are right about the Valentine items…and that does sound fun, too. Doesn’t it? Thanks!

  3. I love your new Santa picture!! It is gorgeous! I really want one this year, I need to run to Kirklands!

  4. Hi Helen,

I don’t know if you remember but I was the young girl that worked at the Hixson Kirkland’s up until last fall, I was a team member than one of the managers. I left last August to pursue a career with my degree. I am still in the area and shop the same Kirkland’s I once worked at.

Anyway, you were one of few customers I remember helping – and looked forward to helping. I tried to be the first one to you when you came through the door so I could chat and help you look around. You have an awesome blog here and I am so excited about the way you express your passion. I look forward to following your blog!

    • Hi Tara, I certainly do remember you and so does my husband. It is great to hear from you and to hear that you are doing well. Thanks for the kind words about my blog. I enjoyed reading your blog, too….and learned a lot! I’m hoping to be your first follower, too! Thanks for finding me! Your attention to details will carry you far in your career!
