Part Two Shopping At Ross

sculptureddaisypitcher20110418Tuesday afternoon, I just had to return to Ross for another day of shopping. Earlier this week, I showed you the chairs that some believe too contemporary for his/her style. I certainly understand that as my style is more traditional/colonial. Whatever!!!

Ross Dress For Less was packed with shoppers. “Why,” you ask. The answer is quite simple, they sell inexpensive items, actually greatly reduced items for a fraction of what you might see that same item in another local shop. People shop at Ross looking for the deals. And Tuesday did not prove to be a different day…there were many wonderful things right there. I love seeing ladies with their friends laughing and trying to decide who is going to get the one item left, if they both are nutzo over it.

See the top photo taken in my kitchen a while back…probably about 2 years ago? The flowers in the “Sculptured Daisy” pitcher look great from either side…the spout to the left and handle to the right or vice versa. Just one way is solid ecru. And no, I haven’t used it to serve iced tea…knew you were wondering! And another thing you must hear about me…I absolutely do not like stark white dishes! Gulp! Bigger gulp! It’s about to happen…never thought I’d live to see the day, that I’d consider bright white dishes!

What is happening to me? My taste might be changing a bit…not that much..or maybe so! Anyway, sadly I was able to talk myself out of buying it…yes, I’m deranged. There is hope, maybe just maybe I’ll get back in time to pay for it, before someone else locates that store in Chattanooga. As much as I’d love to have it…see those details on the handle in the closeup photo? So very lovely…then I’m thinking storage! Oops! I almost totally forgot to say that the beading on this pitcher reminds me of the beaded Pottery Barn white dishware named “Emma.”

How many pitchers can one store when not using all at one time? Look at it and tell me what you would have done, please!

  1. Helen, you won’t believe me, but I have been looking for a white pitcher like the one on this post to use it for some Spring decor I have planned for my kitchen island. I have not been able to find one, but I never looked in Ross! I will go this weekend and see if I can locate one. Thank you for this post! You are the best!

    • Maria, I hope Ross Dress For Less has it in your area. I have been known to drive many miles to find the items I wanted. That pitcher is quite versatile. Perhaps, you can copy the sku number from the photo and they can let you know if another one nearby has it, if they don’t have it at the first store. Good luck!:)

  2. Score!!! Thank you for sharing at the hop xo

    • Katie, Glad you like it. It definitely was a score for someone, just not anyone I know! Yep, it was gone when I returned. Lesson learned the hard way, I should have bought it and returned it if I decided it was just right. Live and learn! Thanks, Helen

  3. Pretty. You know, I never have luck like that when I venture into Ross’s. I guess I just don’t venture in there enough.

    Have a great day.

    • Tina, it’s an adventure for sure, but it’s well worth a look if you are out and about. Senior Day is on Tuesday if you or anyone you know is they can save more money then. Ross prices are great anyday. Thanks for dropping by, Helen

  4. I’m so glad you showed this today. White pitchers are actually on my list right now…and I want them inexpensively. :)

    • Stacey, I hope you are able to find this one…it is gorgeous and very well priced. The detail work is extra special. Thanks for visiting and the nice comment. Helen

  5. Glad you used restraint I have many white pitchers and they do look great on any shelves you would like to brighten up in any room, like pottery barn does…I however did love that one with the little beading on it…lol

  6. Hi Helen! Oh, I love that pitcher and it’s a beauty. You’re going to have so much fun poking pretty things in it.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia 😉

    • Thanks, Shelia! I know I’ll love it if I can locate one…sadly the white beaded one was no where to be seen. Yeah, I know better than to hesitate again. You’re sure to see it if I locate it. Learn from my mistake in waiting!;)

  7. Great find. I keep forgetting to look at Ross for none clothing items. Thanks for linking up at Transformed Tuesday. Hugs, Peggy

    • Thanks, Peggy. They also have a great website for locating their stores…believe me I went to 3 in the Nashville area a couple of months ago when the 2 nearest me ran out of the lumbar pillows I needed…no, wanted them badly though! Ha!
