Topiary In The Dining Room

Topiaries are everywhere we turn these days. Some of you might recall, the one I had resting inside a mercury flower pot in my kitchen. Suddenly, while decorating the house for Christmas, I grabbed it off the wine rack tabletop in the kitchen and dashed into the formal dining room. I needed that topiary in that room. Yet it took me a while to decide the spot. I wanted one that would say, “notice me” to all our guests.
Yes, you might recall that I got a terrific price on that pretty pot at TJ Maxx by noticing the bad chip near the base of the pot. I simply asked the right person aka the manager on duty, if it would be possible to reduce it more. She was glad to reduce it further after I got to the check out. Sure…it was just another dollar. Of course, she realized I was not going to leave it there, if she didn’t reduce it. I knew though, that I would always have the chip to a wall or backed into a corner. It was worth the 3 or tad more seconds to get that reduction. I did know what that pot would have cost in a high end shop..that held my interest.
I had recently read, that TJ Maxx is one of the best stores to ask for a reduction if there is something missing or damaged. Of course, if I had been in a terrific hurry to get out of there…I would not have risked asking about it. The point is…how many times one might save much more depending on how long the store has held it.
This is the pine topiary, that I bought at Trees N Trends… check here to see that shopping cart full of goodies, that I bought!
That day…I really had no clue where the topiary would land. I just had to show you how it looked for Christmas. Simple adding that gold snowflake added the right measure of pizzazz!
Now, I’m thinking what might appear in February!
I’ll be joining a few parties this week, and hope to see you around for them.
